Bob Dylan Tribute

We held our third annual Bob Dylan Tribute last Friday (a benefit fund raiser for Children's Home Society of West Virginia-Parkersburg) at 6 Pence Pub in Parkersburg. Seven acts of music provided a dizzying array of Dylan tunes in styles and eras all up and down the Dylan song book. Jeremy Mayle, a true Dylan fan, plays out rarely, but really has some enthusiasm to support this event, and put on a good show. Aaron Whited is becoming a big supporter of the Tribute shows, and put on a good set with Mary Mary, and then came back later to jam some more. Steve Peck and his son, and Jonny Nutter are two solid mainstays of the Tribute shows, and always work up some great performances. Stone Road Band re-joined the Tribute series, after a little reprieve, and really rocked the joint. Don Howerton rushed off the little league field to join us, bringing his "veteran" music performer status to the fore, but unfortunately suffered through some technical difficulties and had to cut short his set, just as it was getting pumped up. Carly Stephens performed only one song, but did a great job and left folks wanting more! She has been a breath of fresh air in the sometimes "male dominated" Tribute series!
