David allan coe

Just had a discussion with an enthusiastic David Allan Coe fan; about the recently released CD of unrecorded songs from the early 70's when he had just come to nashville. I had read a review of the same CD (DVD included with some raw footage of his early years in Nashville)-

green's played at new Parkersburg venue- Pappy's

Saturday, August 27, 2005, the Greens played at a new venue in downtown Parkersburg, Pappy's on 5th Street. (it was the old varsity club and/or drunken parrot, among most recent reincarnations) Jan could not be there due to a commitment at work; so it was just the "power duo" of Andy and Nathan. I believe this was the first "live music" event at the new place; and the owners seemed enthusiastic. The Walters family is obviously very excited to have opened Pappy's. The Greens went through two sets of a good mix of originals and covers, and did a lot of moving from one song to another in their usual intuitive style of following each others improvising. They had played an early evening gig down in St. Albans WV at the BrickHouse, so definitely put in some time; following up on a Friday night gig at the Rosewood Theatre in Morgantown. The Greens are on to Elkins next weekend for the Zen festival.
