todd burge's CD release party

Friday, December 9th, we went to the blennerhassett hotel for todd burge's CD release show. Billy Matheny opened up with a set of songs, and then Todd Burge played songs off the new CD. Billy accompanied him with a variety of instruments. Then Michael Lipton joined for a few songs backing up Todd. Then Larry Groce came up and sang a set, accompanied mostly by Michael Lipton; then finishing up with all four musicians; before Todd actually finished with a Roger Miller tune, Kansas City Star. Larry Groce had an excellent choice of songs; some covers; the Bottle Rockets song about Welfare Music; a Rick Danko (The Band) song, and a couple of his own. It was a small intimate setting, and an appreciative audience. Good stories between songs.
