Blind Alfred Reed

Making the connection: Todd Burge reported recently working on a tribute album for Blind Alfred Reed, a West Virginia musician, for the WV MUsic Hall of Fame (see Todd's website and blog for that information). Blind Alfred Reed's song: "how can a poor man stand such times and live" is on the Harry Smith's Anthology of American Folk Music Volume 4. We had the showing of the movie last night; a disappointing size crowd; but the movie was fascinating and intriguing in its web of connection to music of many eras; and the cultural impact and depth.
