Okay, the Cherryholmes show

Stuart's opera house in nelsonville had two sold out shows this week (good for them!) Last night was the Cherryholmes. A family of blue grass; father on bass, mother on mandolin; oldest daughter on banjo; oldest son on guitar, youngest son on fiddle, mandolin, guitar, and ukulele (that doesn't look right)- and youngest sister on fiddle. Good vocal "blood harmonies" and some mighty fine clogging and buck dancing at key moments. Father tells some jokes, some good intra-family teasing and stories. A very appreciative audience; all in all a good show. Mom's yodeling was also a highlight. That is definitely a popular genre of music for the southeast ohio area. I may venture over to see the townes van zandt movie next weekend at stuart's. Otherwise, not sure of what i'd see next there; other than the hock hocking folk festival in May. Still a conflict with the ohio river folk festival in madison indiana on the same day, May 20th. Still a ways off..........
